Let’s start this blog post with a round of applause for all of the mama’s turned home school teachers this school year. Let’s cheers to sleeping in and not having to fight with your kids to get them ready for school. Enjoy this break!

Since we were inside all of 2020, I want to make this a summer to remember. Getting outside improve my mood and I love the quality time. Darrin has been off on the weekends now, so we get to explore as a family. It’s been so nice.

Some of these bucket list items are Central Florida specific, but feel free to plug in your local museums, zoos and/or attractions.

I put together a free printable so that you can check off each item as you complete them! You can find that in my Free Resource Library.

I have linked Central FL activities within the following list.

Events During the Summer

What I like to do when looking for things to do is check Facebook events. I look at the local libraries to see what they have scheduled and what interests us. I also like to look to see if there are any special events going on at the zoo or local museums.

Libraries are underrated and have a ton of events that not a lot of people know about. They do read aloud for littles, book packs customized for your kids. The book packs my local library puts together is based on age and child’s interests. They contain books and book marks, coloring pages and more. Of course the books are checked out and need to be returned. What I did with Cassidy last summer was look up activities and crafts that have to do with the books we checked out. She loved checking out new books.

Don’t recreate the wheel either! Check out Pinterest for crafts and free scavenger hunt printables. If you are looking to teach your child over the summer, Teachers Pay Teachers is a great resource as well.

Do you have anything fun planned this summer? I can’t wait to make new memories!
