Cassidy turns 5 tomorrow you guys! Like seriously I cannot believe that she has reached this milestone so quickly. It doesn’t feel like I have been a mama this long already. My poor heart! I have been reminiscing and going through old photos, watching videos of her first steps and her sweet baby giggle. Time is such a thief and I am so grateful for the opportunity to be Cassidy’s mama.

This last year and a half has been rough for everyone. Last year we held a small and very intimate get-together for Cassidy’s 4th birthday and this year I wanted her to get to celebrate with all of her friends by throwing her a Disney World Princess Party with a more classic and vintage feel to it. Cassidy loves Mulan and Rapunzel so I decided we could incorporate all of the princesses and encourage her friends to dress as their favorite. I aimed for soft pastel colors over the modern cartoon versions of the characters. My bestie found the perfect Spotify playlist and the kids sang and danced to their favorite songs.

This theme was honestly inspired by a Pinterest pin that I saw almost a year ago, and I knew I needed to recreate it. I planned the entire party around these Disney Golden Books party favors. At every single party we have ever had for Cassidy, I have always been intentional with what I give out for party favors. I don’t like to waste things, and as a mama, I know that traditional party favors last a day or two and then go straight to the garbage can. We have created a love for reading and I wanted to add to the book collections of the friends we were inviting.

I ordered the following books from Amazon, they were perfect for the vintage aesthetic.

I wrapped the books in ruffled pink and blue ribbon from Michaels and cut the names using my Cricut in a cursive font.

For decor, I had my heart set on having a bounce house outside with a pretty wood picnic table with a pastel tablescape. I was sucked into a few DIY picnic table videos on Tiktok and I was lucky enough to have my best friend’s husband make one for us. It turned out beautiful and really complimented the bounce house from Air Affair. Air Affair is a bounce house rental company in the Central Florida area that specializes in modern bounce houses. They can compliment any of your party themes and are super fun to add to events of all kinds. We chose the Flamingo, which is a pink bounce house with a slide. The kids loved it and it matched our decor perfectly. Usually, when you add a bounce house you sacrifice your decor, but if anything it enhanced the feminine princess vibe we were trying to achieve. If you are in the Central Florida area, definitely check out Air Affair’s Instagram and view all of the beautiful parties they have been a part of. Samantha was wonderful to work with and I am already itching to plan another bounce house rental.

There are companies in Central Florida that will rent you picnic tables and floor pillows if you aren’t handy or lucky enough to have an amazing best friend like mine. We purchased our floor pillows from Ikea as they were the most affordable option. We placed the table on top of an area rug we already had in Cassidy’s playroom so the kids weren’t sitting in the grass. Alternative floor pillow options can be purchased from Amazon and Target as well.

For the tablescape decor, I honestly was overwhelmed with the amount of princess party options there were. However, I really wanted the party to incorporate Disney Princess characters rather than princesses in general. It was hard to find Disney princess decor that wasn’t overly cartoonish or within the pastel color scheme.

I lucked out and found budget-friendly Disney princess decor at Walmart:

In addition to the Little Golden Book party favors that I made for each child in attendance, I put together a gift bag and let them take home some fun decor.

For food, I really wanted to keep it simple. There is nothing more stressful than trying to wrangle your child at a party so they can eat while they are hyped up on sugar and adrenaline from playing with their friends. I kept it to finger foods: Chickfila Nuggets, bite-sized sandwiches, fruit, chips and dip, and additional treats.

Each year we use Double Trouble Cupcakes in Central Florida for our cakes and cupcakes. They are family friends and awesome people. This year my daughter was diagnosed with Asthma and a few major food allergies: wheat, dairy and eggs. Angie and Rachel never miss. Look at this beautiful and delicious vegan chocolate cake they made for Cassidy! It was flavorful and got so many compliments. The cake topper was created by me with my Cricut using Glitter Card Stock and baby pink vinyl.

Cassidy had the best time at her Disney Princess Birthday Party. It made all of the preparation worth it. Hopefully by laying out all of the products I shopped for Cassidy’s birthday can help you prepare or come up with ideas for your own birthday parties.

Until next time,
